This drawing was inspired by my favorite episode of classic STAR TREK : City on the Edge of Forever. That teleplay, written by Harlan Ellison, originally aired on 4/6/67 and is held by most fans of classic Trek to be the best/favorite. I spent approximately 8 hours on this. I used a 2mm lead holder, and a 4B drawing pencil on Bristol Board.
Oh, that was a great Trek episode! I've been spoiled: they've been airing the old series locally on Saturday nights in my town--I'm having a great time watching them all again! Beautiful contrasts, and a cool rendering of the "portal," too!

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
